The Bird Head Print

I’m a 37-year-old Western Red Cedar from the East Sooke region.
Do you notice how I have two distinct types of rings? The 19 darker rings indicate heartwood. Heartwood is denser and more durable than the others. My 18 lighter outer rings show what’s called sapwood - the portion of my tree that is still growing and can transport water from my roots to my leaves. I look like a bird because my print has a cross section of a branch, resembling a beak.
The black rings represent my winter growth; whereas the white rings represent my summer growth.
Each print comes with a copy of your tree’s story.
All prints are made to order.
